Coronary artery disease

Narrowed coronary arteries

Your heart reaches its limit with every step?

When the coronary arteries are narrowed.

In brief

Coronary heart disease and EECP in brief.

When deposits narrow the coronary arteries, resilience declines. EECP Cardio Pulse supports the heart in improving its oxygen supply naturally, gently from the outside and across the heart's entire vascular network.

Typical

How you may notice narrowed coronary arteries.

  • Your breath does not last as long as it used to
  • A feeling of tightness when walking briskly or uphill
  • Rapid exhaustion when working in the house or garden
  • Symptoms in the cold or after eating
  • You hold back without wanting to
  • The diagnosis is: narrowed coronary arteries
Background

What happens in the heart with coronary heart disease.

In coronary heart disease, deposits narrow the vessels supplying the heart over years. Under physical or emotional strain, not enough oxygen reaches the heart muscle. Typical signs are tightness, quick breathlessness and less stamina in everyday life.

Complement

How EECP fits into the treatment of coronary artery disease.

Coronary artery disease is treated in three ways: with medication, with a healthy lifestyle and, where needed, with treatment of individual narrowings. That can remain the foundation. EECP Cardio Pulse can complement this treatment. It acts on the heart's entire vascular network, including the fine branches that supply the heart muscle.

Effect

How EECP can help narrowed coronary arteries.

EECP Cardio Pulse acts right down to the smallest vessels and on the vessel lining (endothelium), which controls their dilation. Precisely where procedures cannot act, EECP can improve the regulation of blood flow. The aim is for the small vessels to respond better to exertion again.

For whom

When EECP can make sense for coronary artery disease.

A

Stable CHD with symptoms

The diagnosis is established, the medication is adjusted, and yet the heart reaches its limit under exertion.

B

Narrowings in many places

The deposits are spread across many sections, so that a single procedure would change little.

C

As a complement to treatment

Alongside medication and a healthy lifestyle, you want to do something that trains the heart's own blood flow.

What sets it apart

What speaks for EECP in narrowed coronary arteries.

Acts on the whole vascular system, not just one narrowing

Aim: more exercise capacity and oxygen supply

A good complement to medication, stent or bypass

Lasting effect

Lasting effect of EECP therapy for coronary artery disease.

After around 35 sessions the treatment is over, but the effect is not: a vessel lining that widens better again, and collateral pathways the heart muscle uses, stay with the body. That is why the improved exercise capacity can last for months to years.

Limits

What EECP does not do for coronary artery disease.

The deposits in the vessels remain. The disease can continue to progress. Your existing treatment, good values and your lifestyle can remain the foundation. EECP Cardio Pulse can be added, with the aim of supplying the heart better through the existing vascular network.

Our approach

Using everything, leaving nothing out.

Our philosophy: use every option in cardiology – including the body's own natural powers. EECP Cardio Pulse sets targeted flow stimuli and supports the vascular system's capacity to adapt. Entirely without a procedure, complementing conventional cardiology. As much as necessary, as gentle as possible.

Questions

Questions about EECP for coronary artery disease.

  • Can EECP remove the deposits?

EECP Cardio Pulse does not work on the individual deposit but on the heart's vascular network: the vessel lining can respond better again, and fine collateral pathways can be used more. The aim is a better supply to the heart muscle with the vessels that are there. The deposits themselves do not disappear as a result.

  • I have several narrowings. Is EECP still suitable?

EECP Cardio Pulse does not act on a single narrowing. It works on the entire vascular system of the heart. This is an advantage especially with diffuse narrowings, where a single procedure would change little. Whether it is right for you is something we clarify in the initial consultation.

  • Does EECP lower my risk of a heart attack?

EECP has mainly been studied for symptoms and exercise capacity. For the prevention of events there are no dedicated studies so far. Physiologically, a favourable influence is well explained: a vessel lining that works better again, and fine collateral pathways, are an advantage for the heart. Together with your existing treatment and good values, EECP can be one building block.

  • Do I have to choose between EECP and a procedure?

One does not rule out the other. If a procedure is medically necessary, it takes priority. EECP Cardio Pulse can be useful before or after it. If no procedure is planned, EECP can also take its place. We discuss which order is right for you on the basis of your findings.

  • How does EECP fit with my medication?

As a complement. Your medication continues, and EECP is added. You discuss any changes to your medication together with us.

  • How will I notice that EECP is working?

In your everyday life: walks that used to need breaks can be completed in one go. Stairs become easier, and the feeling of tightness occurs less often. In addition, we compare exercise capacity and symptoms before and after the course of treatment, so that the progress is not just a feeling.

General information, not a promise of cure. Whether EECP is suitable for you is something we clarify after a cardiac examination.
