With which pre-existing conditions?

  • Severe leakage of the aortic valve
  • Aneurysm of the aorta
  • Severely raised pulmonary pressure
  • Recent thrombosis or phlebitis
  • Pronounced bleeding tendency
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
  • Severe cardiac arrhythmias
  • Acutely decompensated heart failure
  • Pregnancy

Why these in particular?

EECP increases the return of blood to the heart and the pressure in the aorta. With these conditions, that would be a strain.
