Why a Cardio Check-Up before EECP?
Last updated: October 2026 · Cardio Pulse Berlin
EECP is gentle, but it is a medical treatment. With every heartbeat, blood is returned to the heart under pressure. Whether your heart tolerates that well is shown by the Cardio Check-Up beforehand.
- What it includes
- Cardiac diagnostics
- Purpose
- Ruling out contraindications
- Result
- Your baseline for the course of treatment
- Billing
- Separate service under the GOÄ fee schedule
Do I really need the check?
We do not start a course of treatment without a Cardio Check-Up. EECP increases the return flow of blood to the heart. That is the desired effect. Your heart should be in good shape for it. Whether that is the case cannot be seen from the outside, but in cardiac diagnostics, for example on the heart ultrasound and the ECG. The check is part of a careful medical assessment, as before any treatment that acts on the circulation.
What is part of the Cardio Check-Up?
- Consultation: your symptoms, your history, your medication
- ECG: the heart rhythm the cuffs will later follow
- Heart ultrasound: how the heart pumps and how the valves work
- Blood pressure and circulation
- Legs: whether skin and veins tolerate the cuffs well
Afterwards we know whether EECP Cardio Pulse is suitable for you.
What if I already have findings?
Bring everything with you: doctors' letters, catheter report, heart ultrasound, exercise ECG. Current findings spare you duplicate examinations. Whatever is missing or older, we add.
What happens if something is found?
Then we discuss it openly with you. Some things can be adjusted, such as blood pressure that is too high. EECP then starts later. Some things argue against EECP. Then we say so clearly. That too is a result: you know where you stand.
Why is this not a wellness product?
Because EECP acts on the circulation, even though you are only lying down. Pressure, timing and duration are set by a doctor and linked to your ECG. Gentle means: from the outside, lying down. It does not mean: without effect.
What does the Cardio Check-Up cost?
It is a separate service under the German medical fee schedule (GOÄ). We tell you the amount in advance in the cost plan.
How do we help you?
One call is enough. We arrange the Cardio Check-Up, and you bring your findings. Afterwards you know whether EECP Cardio Pulse is suitable for you, and we plan the course of treatment.
